Box Score MADISON, N.J.. — The Catholic University women's tennis team fell to a formidable opponent in the shape of Drew on Saturday afternoon, 2-7.
Jane Krukiel continued her impressive run at No. 3 doubles in Landmark Conference play, today pairing with Alyson Morris to down their challengers in style. The Catholic duo found itself trailing 1-4 before rattling off seven of the final nine games to complete an epic comeback. Krukiel has only lost one match at that position on the ladder in conference play this season.
Mairead O'Hara claimed the other victory for Catholic, defeating her challenger in a marathon match at No. 3 singles.Â
The freshman responded well after what could have been a demoralizing loss of the first set on a late drop of serve. But she rallied to take the second set by a break before winning the decisive tiebreak (5-7, 6-4, 10-7)Â to claim a win in her first-ever match at No. 3 singles.
The Cardinals will look to return to winning ways tomorrow when they do battle with McDaniel in a non-conference showdown. Nate Farlow's team will travel to Westminster for a 1 p.m. start.
