TOWSON, Md. — After top-five finishes at the 2024 Landmark Conference Championships over the weekend, the Cardinal pair of Colin Coogan and Jack Walsh have been named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team.
Walsh returns to the first team after a one-season hiatus. The senior earned the honor in 2022 while Coogan makes the top squad for the first time in his career after being named to the second team last year.
Coogan capped off an illustrious career with a second-place finish on Sunday, producing a brilliant round of 67 (-5) to match low medalist Drew Elliot's Saturday round with the lowest of the tournament. The senior shot a one-under 143 for the tournament to join Elliot as the only two players under par.
The Fordham Prep product has painted his name all over the Catholic record books. He produced the lowest round in program history (66, -6) and of the 12 below par rounds ever, he owns seven of them. Coogan will return to his home state of New York to use his additional year of collegiate eligibility at Division I Iona next season.
Walsh edged into the top five by shooting even par on Sunday to tie for fifth. The 72 was just one stroke off of his career best, helping him close out a second-career top five finish at championships after finishing in a tie for second place in 2022.Â
The only two seniors on this year's team will be honored by head coach Ed Dolan and the Catholic Athletic Department as part of its annual Senior Celebration on Thursday, May 9. All seniors and graduate students-athletes will be honored during the event.
