Men's Indoor Places Second at Landmark Indoor Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - For the second consecutive season, Catholic men's indoor track & field earned a second-place finish at the Landmark Indoor Championships. Catholic scored 129.5 points, finishing ahead of Moravian and behind Susquehanna. The River Hawks totaled 187.5 points to win the Landmark title. 

Catholic won an impressive five events with Jevontae Fearwell leading the way with a pair of gold medals. Jordyn Walker, Christian Di Nicolantonio, and Kendrick DuPree also earned individual titles while the men's 4x200 relay raced to victory. 

Fearwell was named Landmark Conference Track Athlete of the Year while Walker earned Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Year honors for the second time in his career.

Fearwell brought home victories in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Fearwell improved upon his program record time in the 60, winning the race in 6.90 seconds. The junior also cruised to victory in the 200 with a time of 22.43. 

Di Nicolantonio continued his standout junior campaign, setting a Landmark Championship meet record with a 5.10 meter pole vault to earn another gold medal, the third Landmark Championship of his career. 

Walker leaped to victory with a 14.00 meter triple jump, bringing home his fifth career Landmark gold medal. Back on the track, DuPree ran to victory in the 800, setting a new personal best time of 1:56.29, keeping him in fifth on the Catholic Indoor Performance List and earning him his first career indoor gold medal and second overall.

Sam Compton, Chilowe Osai, Marco Indelicato, and Sebastian Lopez combined to win the 4x200 with the second-fastest time in program history, 1:32.90. 

Compton also earned a silver medal in the 60-meter dash, going one-two with Fearwell as he crossed the finish line in 6.96 seconds. Compton qualified for the finals with a time of 6.95 seconds. 

Fearwell, Nick Troy, Gabe Stypul, and DuPree grabbed silver for the Cardinals in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:27.75, the third-fastest time in program history. 

Osai, Ian Hopkins, Walker, and Stypul all grabbed bronze medals for Catholic as well. Osai finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.64. Hopkins took third in the 5,000 with a time of 15:44.23. Walker finished third in the long jump with a mark of 6.84 meters and Stypul finished third in the pole vault with a 3.95 meter vault. 

Heading into Last Chance qualifiers, Di Nicolantonio remains the lone qualifier on the men's side. The Cardinals will compete to better their times ahead of the Division III NCAA Championships beginning on March 8 in Virginia Beach.
