TOWSON, Md. – After winning the Landmark Conference Championship for the second consecutive season, the Catholic women's cross country team notched two major awards and had four Cardinals earn All-Conference honors.
Kate Inglis won the women's individual title and was selected as the Performer of the Year while head coach
Steve Rahn and his staff were honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Coaching Staff of the Year. This season marks the second time in program history that Catholic has placed more than three runners on an all-conference team.
Inglis was named Landmark Women's Performer of the Year and earned All-Landmark First Team honors after winning the championship race by over five seconds. Inglis is the first Cardinal in program history to finish first at the championship meet and earn the major award. Over her four year career, Inglis steadily improved her finish with each appearance at the Landmark Conference Championships, placing first, second, fifth, and 11th. She was named to the First Team the past three seasons and earned a Second Team selection during her rookie campaign, becoming the first Catholic runner to be named to four All-Landmark teams.
Emily Moehringer also earned a spot on the All-Landmark First Team after placing fifth at Saturday's meet. The senior ran a personal-best time of 22:38.7 to record her first top five finish at the Landmark Championships. Moehringer has been improving all season, topping her previous personal best of 22:59.9 by over 20 seconds in her final run of the year. At the 2023 Championships, Moehringer placed 11th with a time of 24:19.0 and was named to the Second Team.
Georgia Nussey earned an All-Landmark Second Team nod with her 14th place finish. She crossed the finish line in 23:31.63 to come in just one second over her personal best. A season ago, Nussey placed 15th and was named an All-Landmark Honorable Mention.
Laurel McMahon was named an All-Landmark Honorable Mention for her efforts. The sophomore set a new personal best time by more than 15 seconds to place 18th in the competitive field. She bested her performance from a year ago in which she placed 23rd.
Rahn and his staff of
David Carter, Ivan Alvarado, and
Cecilia Maillet were named Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year for back-to-back season. This marks only the second time in program history a Catholic coaching staff has earned the honor.
The Cardinals have a week off before heading to compete in the NCAA South Regional Championships on November 16.
