Cardinals Improve by 12 Shots, Place 15th at Mason Dixon intercollegiate

WAYNESBORO, Pa.. - Catholic men's golf saw a 12-shot improvement on day two of the Mason-Dixon Intercollegiate to finish 15th with a weekend score of 620 (+44). Catholic finished 16 shots over par on Sunday after shooting 28-over on Saturday. 

It was another impressive showing from Joe Earley as he shot the eighth round of 68 or better in program history this afternoon. Earley bounced back from a 76 on day one to fire a 68 (-4) and finish in a tie for 12th at even par. Earley becomes the third Cardinal this season to shoot a 68 and the fourth active player on the team with a round of 68 in their collegiate career. 

Earley carded four birdies, an eagle, 11 pars, and two bogeys on the day. He shot an impressive 32 on the front nine at Waynesboro Country Club, recording birdies on holes number one and two, and an eagle on number eight. Earley shot 36 on the back nine with birdies on 13 and 16. 

Darren Horton finished in a tie for 30th, improving on yesterday's 76 with a 74 (+2). Horton added two birdies to give him four for the weekend. 

Matthew Dietl finished in a tie for 78th, Timothy Cleary finished in a tie for 83rd, and Mario Ventresca finished in a tie for 85th. Dietl shot the best round of the day between the three with an 80. 

The Cardinals will enjoy some time off before competing at the Lebanon Valley Invitational in preparation for the Landmark Championship Preview.
