LEBANON, Pa. - Catholic men's golf placed in a tie for third out of 18 teams at the Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational at Lebanon Country Club this afternoon. The Cardinals shot a team score of 315 (+27), tying Marymount (Va.) and finishing eight strokes behind Scranton for second.
Both
Joe Earley and
Darren Horton finished in the top five to lead the Cardinals. Earley shot a 75 (+3) to finish in a tie for third, just two shots back of the leader while Horton carded a 76 (+4) to finish in a seven-way tie for fifth.
Jack Davenport went on to finish in a tie for 25th after posting a round of 80 (+8) while
Timothy Cleary and
Matthew Dietl each shot 82 (+10).
Earley finished the day with an eagle and a birdie as he posted a score of two on the 436-yard par four 18th. Horton had an impressive five birdies on the day, recording a birdie on three par-fives, a par-four, and a par-three. Cleary had three birdies on the day for
Ed Dolan's squad.
This was the final tune-up for the Cardinals before the Landmark Conference Championship Preview this weekend at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
