WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Catholic (6-5-3) defeated Lycoming (7-4-4) 2-0 on the road on Saturday afternoon, extending its unbeaten streak to seven games.
Holden Woodings scored his 10th goal of the season to make it five straight seasons with a double-digit goal scorer for the Cardinals.
As of the conclusion of Saturday's contest, the Cardinals moved into second place in the Landmark Conference with 12 points. Catholic's last conference loss came back on October 2, 2021 in a 1-0 loss to Elizabethtown.
On Saturday, Woodings took advantage of an early miscue to put the Cardinals on the board in the sixth minute. Woodings has now scored in four straight games, totaling six goals over that stretch.
Roughly 30 minutes later, despite being shown a yellow card three minutes earlier,
Maxim Pencak put the Cardinals second goal into the back of the net, finishing off a
Seth Michalak rebound. For Pencak, it was his third goal of his career and the first of the 2024 campaign.
Catholic edged Lycoming 7-3 in the shots department with the Warriors recording just one shot on goal.
Owen Allegro's lone save of the contest came in the 61st minute as he stopped a Christian Woobay shot low right.
After defeating his alma mater this afternoon, first-year head coach
Connor Keenan will take his team on the road for the final time on Wednesday as they take on the Goucher Gophers.
