Woodings Earns Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week Honors

| By:

TOWSON, Md.  — Catholic's Holden Woodings scored four goals in a 2-0 week for the Cardinals in Landmark play to land Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week honors. It is the time for the junior forward that he has earned the honor in his career and he becomes the first player on the team to earn the honor this season.

Woodings started off his week with a bang on Wednesday, scoring a hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Susquehanna to help earn Catholic its first win in Landmark action. The three goals included two from well outside the 18-yard box, and it was the first hat trick scored by a Cardinals player since Ben Alexander in 2019.

Woodings followed the stunning performance with another match winner late in the match on Saturday, scoring his fourth goal of the week in the 79th minute on a pass from Hayden Lim to close out a 1-0 win for Catholic over Drew. The win moved the Cardinals into a tie for second place in the conference with a 2-0-2 record.

With his goal total from last week, Woodings now leads the conference in goals with eight. Five of those eight goals have come in Landmark contests which is also the most in the league.

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday, October 16 when they take on Elizabethtown at Carlini Field at 7 pm.
