Catholic Tops Opponents 11 Times at Cardinal Invitational

Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic women's tennis welcomed Harford County Community College and Frostburg State to the Dowd Family Tennis Courts on Sunday for the Cardinal Invitational. The Cardinals won 11 matches on the day including two doubles matches and nine singles matches. 

On the doubles court, Alyson Morris and Ava Kaloustian picked up the first win of the day for the Cardinals with a 6-2 victory. Samantha D'Addezio and Stephanie Menendez followed with the second win, taking care of their opponents with a dominant 8-2 performance.  

Shloka Tambat showcased her talents with an impressive victory on the singles court. The freshman battled against Alyssa Kush, the No. 1 player from Frostburg and an All-Conference selection a year ago, coming out on top 8-5. 

Kaloustian picked up two more wins with solo victories against Frostburg, 8-4, and Harford, 8-3. Morris did the same with wins against two different Harford opponents. She dominated the first match 8-2 before mirroring the performance with the same score in the second. 

D'Addezio and Menendez also added singles wins to their totals. D'Addezio topped her opponent 8-4 while Menendez picked up a 8-5 win, both against Harford. 

Mairead O'Hara won one of her singles matches, coming out victorious 8-2 against her competitor from Harford. Ella Knox won her afternoon match, 8-5, over Harford as well. 

The last match of the Cardinals' fall season will occur on October 19 at 1 p.m. as they travel to take on Susquehanna.
