Cardinals Fall to Seagulls in Last Regular Season Dual Meet

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Catholic University women's swimming and diving team battled against Salisbury in an exciting dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals scored 74 points to the Seagulls' 188. 

With today's result, the Cardinals finish the regular season with a 3-5 overall record. 

There were a series of competition races down the stretch that saw fast swims and tight finishes. Ava Snyder got the cheering section going during her 1,000-meter freestyle swim that saw her place third with a time of 11:03.88, just 1 second behind the second-place finisher. 

Two events later, Maura Sadowski recorded a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and added nine points to Catholic's score. She swam a 2:00.66 for a season best time. 

Emily Albans also had a thrilling race in the 50-yard freestyle and out touched her competitor by .05 seconds to snag first place. She swam the down and back in 25.52 seconds to contribute to Catholic's totals. 

Today's meet concluded the regular season for the Cardinals. Catholic now has three weeks off before returning to the pool for the Landmark Conference Championships starting on February 15.
