KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a historic run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2022, Catholic men's soccer opens the 2023 season ranked 16th by the United Soccer Coaches.

The Cardinals ended the 2022 season ranked 16th, the highest mark for the program in the United Soccer Coaches Poll since October 2019 when the team was ranked 10th.
Travis Beauchamp's program posted a final record of 13-4-4 in 2022, finishing an unbeaten regular season (7-0) in the Landmark Conference before earning an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.Â
Catholic went on to defeat Lynchburg and Christopher Newport in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament to reach the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history before falling to Johns Hopkins.Â
The Cardinals second and third-leading goal scorers,
Domenic Caltabiano and
Gordie Bernlohr, return to lead the offense while All-Landmark selections,
Owen Maher and
Andrew Lowman, return to led the efforts on the defensive side of the ball.Â
2023 marks the first year in which the program has entered the season ranked inside the top-25 under Beauchamp.
The Cardinals open up the 2023 season on Friday, September 1 in the Turk Emekli Classic vs. Shenandoah.Â
