FAIRFAX, Va. - The Catholic University men's rowing team competed in the Head of the Occoquan hosted by George Mason on Saturday. Two crews raced in the men's collegiate eights event and one crew was entered in the men's collegiate novice fours event.

The men's varsity eights earned fourth place with a time of 16:54.87. Only George Washington, Delaware, and Loyola Maryland finished ahead of them.  

The second men's varsity eights crossed the finish line in 17:32.92 to secure eighth place. They were one of four crews to finish in the 17th minute. 

The novice team came in eighth in a heat with 15 programs. They recorded a time of 21:52.60, just over two seconds behind their closest competitor in West Virginia. 

The Novice men will hit the waters again next week as they travel to Philadelphia.
