Men's Rowing Opens Up 2023-24 Season at Chestertown Chase

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Catholic University men's rowing teams competed at the Chestertown Chase against Washington College and St. Mary's on Sunday morning. 

Despite strong winds and blustery conditions, the Catholic crews rowed with remarkable composure in the challenging waters.

The men's Varsity 8 won their event with a time of 18:15.18. They pulled out in front and finished ahead of the three other boats by over 15 seconds. The Second Varsity 8, racing in the same event, placed second. They beat Washington College and St. Mary's first Varsity 8s to record a time of 18:33.59. 

Catholic returns to the water in two weeks as they travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the Head of the Charles. The four-day event is set to start on October 19.
