TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic women's swim and dive team earned another dual meet victory on Saturday afternoon at Goucher College, defeating the Gophers 161-37.
The Cardinals won 10 of the 11 events, including the final 10 after finishing second in the meet-opening 400-yard medley relay.
Caitie Heise, Ava Snyder, and Katie Herman all won their first events of the meet with Heise beating out a pair of teammates to win the 1000-yard freestyle by more than 20 seconds. Snyder held off teammate Kaitlin Patt by three seconds in the 200-free and Herman snuck past Emily Albans in the 50-free with a time of 25.07.
Angele Parral picked up the win in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.59 while Alexandra Tomaine grabbed a win in the 100-yard butterfly.
Albans and Patt both grabbed individual wins, earning the victory in the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke respectively. Patt just out-touched Herman in the backstroke with a time of 1:03.11.
Maura Sadowski and Madeline Doucette won the final two individual events with Sadowski winning the 500 free by nine seconds and Doucette outlasting Goucher's Ella Robinson in the 100 backstroke.
The Cardinals ended the event with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Snyder and Patt combining with Emily Blaskovich and Mary Ciaccia to earn another event win each.
Catholic returns home to host Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon in the DuFour Center.
