FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Catholic University women's swimming team fell to the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, 185-71.
Senior Colleen McDonald placed third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.33 and fifth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:25.72).
Junior Alexa Hipp finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.76) and grabbed a third-place finish in the 200 back (2:15.04).
Hipp combined with fellow juniors Madeline Doucette, Megan Lowell and Emma Gould for third place finish (1:57.33) in the 200-yard medley relay.
Doucette grabbed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.09) as well as fifth in the 200-yard breast (2:43.80).
Freshman Ava Snyder swam an impressive 11:09.09 in the 1,000-yard freestyle to secure a victory. She also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:32.31.
Senior Cagney Boyle finished second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.40) and third in the 200 fly (2:29.09).
The Cardinals return to the pool on Friday, Jan. 21 when they host Marymount (VA). They will host Randolph-Macon on Jan. 22 as part of a weekend doubleheader.
