INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second time in her career, Catholic University women's track and field senior Andrea Galeano was selected for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship. She is seeded eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.19 meters.

The championships will be held March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Massachusetts with the University of Massachusetts, Boston serving as host. For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.

Galeano, the 2019 Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Year, posted the eighth-best throw in the nation en route to winning her second consecutive Landmark Conference championship in the weight throw.

Since the first NCAA Division III Indoor Championship in 1985, Galeano is the only woman from Catholic to qualify for the national championships. She also qualified as a sophomore in 2017, finishing 17th with a mark of 15.75 meters in Naperville, Illinois. That year, she was the youngest competitor at the NCAA indoor meet as the only sophomore. There were also just five juniors.

In qualifying for nationals as a sophomore, she posted a personal best of 17.98 meters to win the conference championship.
