GRAND LAKE, Colo. - For the third time in the last five years, the women's lacrosse team was ranked in the top-10 of the final IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll as the Cardinals remained at No. 10 for the seventh consecutive week on Tuesday.
Catholic (17-5), who tied the school record for wins in a season and advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals for the fifth-straight season, also finished in the top-10 in 2015 and 2016. The Cards have also been ranked in each of the five final polls.
In addition, eight of the Cardinals' opponents this year were ranked in the poll, including No. 2 Salisbury, No. 4 Wesleyan (CT), No. 6 York (PA), No. 7 Franklin & Marshall, No. 9 Amherst, No. 11 Mary Washington, No. 20 Scranton and No. 22 SUNY Cortland. Catholic was 4-5 against those eight teams this season.
The Cards' highest ranking in the final poll came in 2015 when they were ranked at No. 6 after finishing 16-4 and advancing to the national quarterfinals.
