GRAND LAKE, Colo. - Four members of the Catholic University women's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Chesapeake Region Team on Monday. Seniors Erin Dugan and Jess Lyons as well as junior Ally Criscuolo were named to the first team while junior Alyssa Bishop earned second team honors.
The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2019. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team.
Criscuolo received her first all-region selection after earning her first all-conference selection. The team's leading scorer, she totaled career highs in goals (51), assists (15), points (66), ground balls (36) and caused turnovers (21). She finished second on the team in goals, third in caused turnovers and fourth in assists and ground balls. She totaled five goals, three assists and eight points, all career highs, while adding six ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 23-15 win at Moravian on March 30.
Dugan earned her third consecutive all-region selection after received her third-straight All-Landmark Conference First Team selection. One of six players to start all 22 games this season, she finished third on the team with 38 ground balls and 68 draw controls. She also totaled 12 caused turnovers. A four-time All-Landmark Conference selection, Dugan finished her career with 148 ground balls, 237 draw controls and 77 caused turnovers in 84 games while making 82 starts. She also totaled three goals and two assists.
Lyons received her second-straight all-region selection after being named to the second team a year ago. She started all 22 games and led the team with 56 goals, 66 points, 83 draw controls and 33 caused turnovers while ranking second with 48 ground balls. She scored at least one goal in 21 of the team's 22 games this season and in 25 of her final 26 dating back to 2018. A three-time All-Landmark Conference selection, Lyons finished her career with 131 goals, 23 assists, 154 points, 135 ground balls, 194 draw controls and 79 caused turnovers in 83 games while making 60 starts.
Bishop also earned her second consecutive all-region selection. She started all 22 games on defense and finished second on the team with a career-high 26 caused turnovers while ranking fifth with 32 ground balls. She was named Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week on April 15 and had two ground balls and three caused turnovers in the team's 19-5 win over Albion in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship. She also totaled four ground balls and four caused turnovers in the team's 16-13 win at No. 20 Scranton on April 13.
The IWLCA will celebrate the 2019 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Specials which will be aired on Lax Sports Network in mid-June.
