Women's Basketball to Host Elite Camp on October 13

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic University head women's basketball coach Matt Donohue announced that the program will be hosting its annual elite camp on Sunday, Oct. 13. 

The one-day intensive camp for prospective college athletes is just $95 and runs from 10 a.m., to 4 p.m. The camp is for girls  entering ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grade in the fall of 2019.

Campers will participate in a full day of collegiate-level practice, film breakdown and strength training, including a sample workout packet designed for and use exclusively by Catholic women's basketball team. Attendees will also perform position specific drills where Catholic women's basketball coaches will evaluate their strengths and areas for improvement.

Elite Camp will provide first-hand experience into what it takes to play at the next level as well as a chance to play with top high school athletes from around the country who aspire to play in college. Learn the X's and O's of college basketball and develop a high basketball IQ.

Over the last eight years, the Catholic women's basketball team has made four appearances in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship and won three Landmark Conference championships as well as the 2014 ECAC South Region championship.

Since the league's inaugural season in 2007-08, the Cardinals rank third in the conference with 215 wins, including 109 conference victories. Catholic has won at least 16 games in each of the last nine seasons, finishing 16-10 a year ago with a 59-50 win over No. 6 Scranton on Feb. 2, 2019.

Meanwhile, Donohue has totaled 323 career wins as a head coach, including 205 at Catholic, picking up his 200th win with the Cardinals on Jan. 23, 2019 with an 83-58 victory over Goucher.
