CARLISLE, Pa. - The shutout winning streak continued for the Catholic University men's soccer team Saturday afternoon in a 1-0 victory over Dickinson at Dickinson Park.
A 15th minute goal from sophomore forward Ben Alexander was the difference in the match, giving the Cardinals (5-1) their fifth consecutive win.
Catholic outshot the Red Devils 11-8 in the contest while the two sides each took five corner kicks.
Alexander was the only player on the pitch to find the back of the net for his team-leading fifth goal of the season. Sophomore midfielder Paul Egan led the team with three shots in the match.
Junior goalkeeper Jack Long made four saves to earn his fourth win on the season, all shutouts.
In five straight clean sheet wins, the Cardinals have outscored their opponents 21-0. Catholic has not allowed a goal in a span of 451:22.
The Cardinals return home for their next match on Wednesday, September 18 against Mary Washington. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
