WASHINGTON - After receiving First-Team All-Conference selections from the Landmark Stefan Poggioli, of The Catholic University of America baseball team, was named to the D3Baseball.com Second-Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region list while Joseph Salzano garnered
a spot on the Third-Team.

He also tops the team's charts with the most home runs (4) and triples (4) in 2015 with an on base percentage of (.457). Poggioli has started and appeared in 40 of 44 games for Catholic this season and registered 83 put outs and 7 assists in the outfield for a fielding percentage of .978. Salzano had breakout sophomore campaign posting a 1.42 ERA in Landmark Conference play. He was named Pitcher of the Week on March 16, after earning two saves during the week and escaping a bases loaded situation in the 10th inning against Moravian allowing the Cardinals to come away with a walk-off 4-3 victory in the bottom of the frame. Salzano's ability to anchor down the back end of the Cardinal's bullpen was pivotal to CUA's 2015 success.
The 2015 season marks the fourth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.
