WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University women's cross country team opened the 2019 season on Saturday by finishing first overall at the Labor Day Classic. The Cardinals totaled 32 points, 18 ahead of Division I host Howard.
Catholic placed four runners in the top-10 led by sophomore Paige Wilderotter who came in second with a time of 20:33.14. Sophomore Hannah Marino crossed the line just behind in third (20:39.98) while senior Marykate Higley nabbed eighth place (21:44.62) and freshman Zoe Zelch finished ninth in her collegiate debut (21:53.75).
Catholic hosts the Cardinal Classic next Saturday, September 14 at Colmar Manor Community Park beginning at 10:15 a.m.
