WASHINGTON – The Catholic University women's track & field team had its final meet before next week's Landmark Conference Championships at the host site as the Cardinals competed at the annual Susquehanna Invite.
Junior thrower Andrea Galeano led the tune-up meet for the Cards as she was victorious in the weight throw with a mark of 15.05 meters.
Freshman Tara Thornton had one her best races of the year as she took the bronze in the 800 as she crossed the finish line in 2:26.09.
Sophomore Grace Boras added a top-15 finish in the 60-meter dash as she took 12th with a time of 8.74 seconds.
Rookie runner Victoria Carlini also had a strong time in the 400 with a mark of 1:05.09, good for 11th place.
The conference meet is set for Saturday, February 24, beginning at 10 a.m.
