Cardinals Visit Susquehanna for Final Tune Up to Landmark Championship

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University women's indoor track and field team traveled to Susquehanna for an Indoor Open as a final tune up to next week's Landmark Championship, which will also be held at Susquehanna.

Megan Ross, Mary Clark, and Samantha Kozlowski competed in the throws as Clark and Ross posted top-to finishes in both the Weight Throw and the Shot Put.

Clark earned fourth in the Weight Throw with a 13.58m effort on her fifth throw, while Ross was not too far behind in sixth with a 12.70m toss. Kozlowski finished 22nd on her second throw of the day at 9.34m.

In the Shot Put, Ross and Clark flip flopped, as Ross took fourth place behind her 11.07m try while Clarke finished in eighth on her second throw of 10.54m. Kozlowski moved up a spot into 21st with a 8.57m performance on her first attempt.

Maria Dextra Cercos was the only Cardinal to compete in the Triple Jump, and finished just out of the top-10 in eleventh place with a 9.63 jump on her first try.

In the sprints, Cercos ran a 10.48 time in the 60m hurdles, ahead of Kaila DeFalco who crossed the finish line in 12.11.

Victoria Maue led CUA in the 60m dash with a time of 8.52, narrowly missing out on the final cut. DeFalco finished with a time of 9.59.

The final event for the Cardinals was the 200m dash as Danielle Caruccio led the CUA charge in the event. Her 27.92 time put her ahead of teammates Bridget Krumholz (28.45) and Maue (29.12).
