TOWSON, Md. - Catholic University women's lacrosse sophomore Bridget Beck scored eight points with four goals and four assists, all career highs, as the 10th-ranked Cardinals posted a 22-3 Landmark Conference victory at Goucher Wednesday.
Catholic (9-3, 4-0 LC) extended its conference win streak to 35 games, scoring 22 goals on just 36 shots. The team has scored at least 20 goals four times this season and is 4-0 when doing so.
Beck, who entered tonight's game with five goals and seven assists in 18 career games, earned her first start of the season after totaling two goals and two assists in a 15-5 win over Drew on Saturday. All 12 of her points this year have come in the last two games.
Beck totaled two goals and four assists in the opening half as Catholic built a 16-3 halftime lead. Senior Megan Ellis scored all of her season-high five goals in the first half as eight different Cardinals found the back of the net.
Clementi finished the game with three goals and one assist, totaling her first career hat-trick in her 51st career game.
Senior Jess Lyons totaled two goals, five draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers while sophomore Emily Bynoe had 10 draw controls. The Cardinals won 21 of the game's 27 draw controls as senior Erin Dugan added four.
Three different players had one goal each for the Gophers (7-6, 0-4 LC) who were held scoreless over the final 46:33. Abbie McHerron had 16 saves.
Catholic will put its conference unbeaten streak on the line on Saturday when it travels to No. 20 Scranton to face the Royals (12-1, 4-0 LC) who have won eight-straight and are 6-1 at home this season. Opening draw is set for noon.
