TOWSON, Md. - On Monday, Catholic University women's lacrosse junior Ally Criscuolo was named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week while junior Nanci Hernandez was named Defensive Player of the Week.
The Cardinals swept both for third time in the last 15 weeks of the award. Hernandez and Holly Regan were honored on April 23, 2018 while Megan Ellis and Erin Dugan were both selected on March 5, 2018.
It was also the second-straight Defensive Player of the Week award for Catholic after freshman Rachel Searle was chosen on March 18.
Criscuolo totaled five goals, one assist, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in two wins last week. She scored with 3:37 left in overtime to give the 14th-ranked Cardinals a 10-9 win over No. 2 Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday in the first game at the new Carlini Field. She totaled her second hat-trick of the season in a 20-4 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday in the Landmark Conference opener for both teams, finishing with a season-high four points.
Hernandez had 15 saves, 7.66 GAA and a 55.6 save percentage while adding four ground balls in earning two wins last week. She made a season-high 12 saves, including seven in the second half of the team's win over F&M before totaling three in the first half against Elizabethtown.
Also on Monday, Catholic moved back into the top 10 of the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll for the first time since March 27, 2017 as it was ranked at No. 10.
The Cardinals begin a three-game road trip on Wednesday when they head to Messiah to take on the Falcons beginning at 4 p.m.
