WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse junior Erin Dugan received one of the top individual honors in Division III lax as she was selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America Second Team.
The third-year defender becomes Catholic's 17th All-American since 2000. With the second-team recognition, she is considered one of the top 38 players in the country and one of only 19 non-seniors on the top-two teams.
Dugan previously garnered All-Region First Team honors for the second-straight season and is also a two-time All-Landmark Conference first-teamer as well as a second-teamer her rookie year.
Dugan led the Cardinals with 82 draw control victories, 40 caused turnovers and 49 groundballs.
A dynamic player in transition, the Medford, N.J., native recorded two goals and two assists during the 2018 season and was selected as the league's Defensive Athlete of the Week after the Cardinals upset over then-No. 5 York.
The defender helped Catholic to its fifth-straight Landmark Conference Championship as the tournament MVP and led the Cardinals' charge to a fourth-consecutive trip to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.
