COLMAR MANOR, Md. - Catholic University men's cross country freshmen Paul Ames and John O'Rourke both earned All-Landmark Conference Second Team honors as the Cardinals finished fifth at the 2019 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Catholic Saturday.
Catholic totaled 114 points, just 10 behind fourth-place Scranton. Elizabethtown won its sixth-straight conference title, finishing with a mere 24 points after placing four runners in the top five. Moravian came in second with 58 points while Juniata was third with 86.
Ames and O'Rourke are the first Cardinals to earn all-conference honors since 2015. Ames finished 10th out of 82 runners with a time of 27:06.54. He was followed closely behind by O'Rourke who came in 13th with a mark of 27:13.14.
