LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Catholic University men's cross country team competed in the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Cardinals placed 24th out of 29 teams with 659 points as freshman John O'Rourke broke the previous school record.
O'Rourke placed 90th out of 256 runners with a time of 26:03.5, surpassed the record (26:06.9) set by classmate Paul Ames just two weeks ago at the Paul Short Invitational. Ames followed closely behind, finishing in 110th place (26:23.0) and freshman Zach Tentor in 183rd place (27:34.1).
"We had another chance today to see where we compare with our conference competition," said Coach Rahn. "We had strong performances on the men's side. John led the team today and broke the school record. This marks the second time this season that the men's 8k record has been broken. Additional highlights include personal records for six more of the men: Zach, Luke Fahy, Paul Gillett, Joel Kreuzwieser, and Joseph Peluso. We are excited for the upcoming conference championships on November 2."
Coming up, Catholic University will host the Landmark Conference Championship at Colmar Manor Community Park on Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 10 a.m.
