LEBONAN, Pa. - The Catholic University men's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday.
The Cards were led by rookie Cornelius Deep with a time of 27:18.54, placing him in 16th out of 83 runners. Junior Cosmo Pirozzi was the next Cardinal to finish, with a time of 28:14.87. Junior Joseph LaPointe crossed the finish line with a time of 28:40.45.
"The men did an outstanding job today." Said first-year Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Steve Rahn. "Cornelius showed us a glimpse of his talent especially after recently coming back from an injury. Our men's team is still very young and returns all but one of our top eight runners. The men's future is very bright."
Catholic will race next at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in Mt. Berry, Ga. on Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m.
