Cardinals Placed 8th at the Don Cathcart Invitational

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Catholic University men's cross country team finished in eighth place overall with 233 points on Saturday at the Don Cathcart Invitational.

The Cards were led by Junior Cosmo Pirozzi with a time of 26:57.88. Freshman Owen Downing was the next Cardinal to finish, with a time of 28:24.01.

"The men ran a really great race," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Steve Rahn. "It was their first 8k in three weeks but five out of the six men had all-time personal records. We're still a very young team and the freshmen are starting to understand how to run an 8k. The future is very bright for the men's team."

The Cardinals will race next at the Hood Open in Frederick, Md. on Saturday, October 13 at 11 a.m.
