WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University men's cross country team opened its season with a strong performance at the Howard Labor Day Classic, finishing in 2nd place overall with 39 points on Saturday.
Catholic ended the day with three top-10 finishers. Junior Cornelius Deep paced the Cardinals with a 3rd-place finish (16:39.96). Junior Cosmo Pirozzi followed behind crossing the finish line in 4th place (16:49.96), and freshman Joseph LaPointe finished in 8th place with a time of 18:01.18.
The Cardinals will race next at the Dutchmen Invitational on September 8 at 10 a.m.
