Lanzas enters his fourth season at Catholic in 2019 working with the goalies.

Lanzas joined the coacing staff in 2016, helping the Cardinals to the second of back-to-back Landmark Conference championships and appearances in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. Catholic also advanced to the conference title game in 2017 while winning a school-record 14 games and finishing with a 14-3 record. The Cardinals received votes in the USILA Coaches Poll and stayed there for eight weeks.

Prior to Catholic, Lanzas spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at nearby Marymount University in the highly competitive Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) where he served as the goalkeepers coach and worked with the defense and man down unit. While there, he mentored with Ross Fernandez who is ranked fifth in school history in both saves (549) and goals against average (10.90) as well as Derek Digiovanni who is sixth in saves (445) and eighth in goals against average (11.70). The Saints advanced to the CAC quarterfinals in 2012 and the ECAC South semifinals in 2014.

Lanzas has also coached various club teams at the youth and high school levels.

A 2007 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in business economics, Lanzas was a dual-sport athlete for the Red Dragons in men's lacrosse and wrestling. In lacrosse, he was a part of two SUNYAC championships and reached the NCAA quarterfinals (2005) and national championship (2007). In wrestling, he was nationally-ranked and won the ECWC championship in 2007. He was also a member of the college orchestra.

Lanzas was a two-year starting goalie and team captain at Howard Community College before transfering to Cortland. A local product, he attended James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia, lettering in lacrosse, football and wrestling.

Lanzas currently works for Fairfax County government and resides in nearby Arlington, Virginia.
