WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse played its final nonconference game of the 2018 season as they took on Montclair St. on Saturday. It was all Red Hawks in the game however as they went over, 14-3.
The rest of the Cardinal offense could not get going against a strong Montclair St. defense as Red Hawk goalie Matthew McLaren made 11 saves in the game.
The Red Hawks stepped up even more on man-down situations as they held Catholic scoreless in five chances.
The Montclair offense also showed strong as they put 23-of-38 shots on goal. They were led by Matt Haemmerle who had nine points on seven goals and two assists.
Catholic now has three games left on its schedule, all conference tilts. The Cards travel to Goucher (4/18) and Moravian (4/21) next week before returning home for the season finale the following Saturday against Elizabethtown.
