Hanrahan to Broadcast All Cardinal Home Games This Season

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University head men's basketball coach Steve Howes announced on Monday that Washington, D.C., native and veteran broadcaster Frank Hanrahan will handle the play-by-play duties for all 15 men's basketball home games this season on the Cardinal Sports Network.

A graduate of Division III Ithaca College, Hanrahan currently does play-by-play for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA and has previously provided play-by-play for the Big Ten Network and hosted Washington Wizards' pre- and post-game shows. He has been a sports anchor with WUSA 9 for the last five years and also had several years of radio experience as a sports anchor with WTOP, WTEM and WJFK.

"I am thrilled that Frank has joined our men's basketball family as the voice of the Cardinals," said Howes. "This will take our video stream broadcast to a whole new level. Frank is a phenomenal broadcaster who has earned the reputation as one of the best in the business. I have admired his work and have gotten to know him over the years. We are fortunate to have him associated with our program and I know our fans will enjoy our game coverage even more."

Hanrahan's first game will be on Tuesday, November 13 as the men's basketball team opens its 2018-19 season at home against local rival Marymount (Va.) at 7 p.m.
