WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University field hockey team defeated Elizabethtown in a Landmark Conference contest on Senior Day Saturday, 2-1.

The Cardinals (12-7, 6-1 LC) earned the No. 2-seed in the 2019 Landmark Conference Field Hockey Championship and will host third-seeded Susquehanna in the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., inside Cardinal Stadium.

Prior to the game, Catholic honored seniors Katie Anderson, Nicole Tsiaras, Alexandra DiFlorio and Carly Philbin.

The Cardinals got on the board early as junior midfielder Meghan Shallow redirected a pass from Anderson just over four minutes into the first quarter.

After a scoreless second quarter, the Blue Jays (6-12, 4-3 LC) answered back in the third with a deflection over the head of sophomore Maysen Elliott and into the back of the cage to tie the game at 1-1 with less than 10 minutes remaining.

With 4:21 left in the fourth, junior forward Anna Baffone received a pass from sophomore forward Hannah Bateman and scored her third goal of the season to set a new career high and mark the game-winner.
