Cardinals Clip Eagles in Landmark Contest at Home, 2-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University field hockey team defeated Juniata in a Landmark Conference matchup on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium, 2-0.

After a scoreless first quarter, junior midfielder Kelly Cancelmo collected the ball in the circle before firing a shot in the right back corner of the cage to put Catholic up 1-0.

In the third, sophomore forward Katie Murphy centered a pass to senior forward Katie Anderson who was able to finish the shot for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maysen Elliott needed to make just one save to even her record to 5-5.

The Cardinals host No. 12 Ursinus on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.
