Cardinals Fall to No. 8 Salisbury

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Catholic University field hockey team fell to No.8 Salisbury University, 6-1 in non-conference play on Wednesday.

Salisbury (8-2) scored first 16 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead and added two more to make the score 3-0 going into the second half. The Sea Gulls added three more goals before freshman Hannah Bateman scored off of a deflect from a shot by sophomore Grace Olson

Sophomore goalie Kim McGroary recorded six saves for the Cardinals. Junior Nicole Tsiaras added two defensive saves, giving her eight on the season, which ties her for first in the nation.

Catholic will return home on Saturday, October 6 against Landmark Conference opponent Susquehanna at 1 p.m.
