WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America field hockey team made it five wins in a row, improved to 9-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Landmark Conference games thanks to a 4-2 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday night at Cardinal Stadium.
The No. 18 nationally-ranked Cardinals got two goals in each half all coming from different players.
Elizabethtown was able to tie up the game just before the half but Catholic came back with a strong second half stanza.
Just a minute later, senior Rachel Day, who assisted on the first goal of the game, got an insurance goal for the Cards as she blasted one to the back of the cage.
Junior Molly Crowley was also on the scoresheet as she set up the first goal of the game to Olson on a nice feed along the endline.
Catholic outshot Etown, 21-7 and had 11 penalty corners to their six.
The Cardinals return to action and Landmark play this Wednesday, October 11, at 7 p.m. when they travel to Goucher.
