Ropelewski Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. - For the second-straight year, Catholic University baseball junior Jack Ropelewski was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

A mechanical engineering major with a 3.93 GPA, Ropelewski boasts the highest GPA on the team. He is a two-time Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll selection (2018, 2019) and was named to the All-Landmark Conference Second Team in 2018 after leading the team in wins with seven and totaling 39 strikeouts in 34 innings.

This year, Ropelewski has 12 appearances as a relief pitcher, totaling a 2-2 record with one save and a 6.15 earned run average. He has struck out 17 over 16.1 innings of work and is averaging 9.50 strikeouts per game.

In 36 career appearances, Ropelewski is 9-4 with two saves and a 4.65 ERA. He has struck out 59 over 54.2 innings, an average of 9.80 per game.

Catholic begins defense of its Landmark Conference title on Friday when the third-seeded Cardinals face second-seeded Moravian at Scranton's Charles J. Volpe Family Field. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
