WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America baseball team won its fifth Landmark Conference Championship in 11 years and the media has taken note as ABC7 WJLA recognized sophomore Jack Ropelewski as their Toyota Team Player of the Week.
"I think we have a lot of good leadership from last year a bunch of juniors that are now seniors have really stepped up and taken great leadership roles," said Ropelewski.
Reliever Jack Ropelewski is one of those leaders.
"The coaches try to put you in a spot to succeed do just that and help the team out," Ropelewski explained.
Jack is also a leader off the field.
"My parents have always pushed education," he said. "I have valued that and always pushed that first."
Ropelewski is a Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.96 GPA.
Jack has been part of a special team at Catholic this year, the Cardinals ranked in the Division III Top-25 for the first time in program history.
"It's really cool and it is the first time for DIII that Catholic baseball has done that, so it is really awesome to be a part of the team," said Ropelewski.
