Watson enters her second year as an assistant athletic trainer at Catholic University. She joins the sports medicine staff after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at SportsPlus Physical Therapy in Marshalltown, IA.
Prior to her time in Marshalltown, IA, Watson worked for Lincoln Memorial University where she served as the athletic trainer for the women’s lacrosse team. While at Lincoln Memorial, she also served as an approved preceptor for athletic training students.
Watson has also worked as an intern for the USF SMART Institue at the University of South Flordia. There she worked as an outreach athletic trainer for local high schools where she updated county policies and procedures to make them specific to high schools. These procedures included emergency action plans, concussion and injury management plans, and heat/weather protocols.
Watson earned her Bachelor of Science in athletic training in December 2013 from George Mason University and received her Master of Medical Science in athletic training in May 2016 from the University of South Florida. She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA) and the District of Columbia Athletic Trainers’ Association (DCATA).
